12/08/2012: Holiday Party with speaker Monica Burns

Please join us as the Ohio Valley RWA hosts their annual holiday party on Saturday, December 8th, at 12:00 noon.  Feel free to bring your favorite holiday treat to share and if you’d like to participate in the gift exchange, be sure to bring a gift … the limit is $15 and should be either writing-related or romance-related.

Monica Burns is our guest speaker this month and will begin her program at approximately 1:15 pm.

About Monica’s program:

Almost overnight, the publishing landscape has changed. At no other time in history have writers had so much control over their books. From covers, to editing, to release dates and much more, writers are taking their careers in hand and launching themselves into the world that is self-publishing. But there’s a downside to that lovely image. Thousands of other writers are doing the same thing at an exponential rate. This means hundreds of thousands of books readers have to sift through to find your gem of a book. So how does a writer get noticed in the free-for-all taking place online? An author brand. Come see why self-publishing under an author brand is a way to break free of all the self-publishing noise.

Looking forward to seeing you there!
